Sodium silicate in paper and carton making
2022/01/31Sodium silicate is used in the paper and cardboard industries as a factor in increasing the adhesion of dough. This substance is also used in the preparation of colored ink. The combination of sodium silicate can alkalize the reaction of the environment. The degree of alkalinity of the environment using it is much less than the alkalinity of the compound with the benefit.
Other important applications of silicate include the production of cardboard sheets and cardboard tubes. Thin layers of paper, usually recycled paper, are impregnated with sodium silicate. These thin sheets are glued together or made into cardboard sheets or cardboard tubes.
